AACC Tennis Club Goes Indoors for Winter

November 18, 2008

The Anne Arundel Community College Tennis Club has arranged for indoor tennis at Big Vanilla.  Club members have the opportunity to join weekly indoor tennis practices that began in November 2008 and will continue until March of 2009.  Plans are afoot to create a club team to play against other local college clubs.  The resurrection of Tennis at AACC is an attempt to replace the dwindling college tennis competition that has occurred due to budget cuts in athletic programs nationwide and student work schedules

In previous years AACC had outstanding Tennis Teams and had won National Intercollegiate competitions as late as 1997.

Current Students of AACC are eligible to join and practice with the club, but proof of current enrollment is required.

Heat Wave in Anne Arundel County- Reschedule Sporting Events.

June 9, 2008

Expect the air quality to be very bad for the next few days based on previous heat wave results.  If you are a jogger or involved in some intense physical activity, consider moving your schedule to later in the week.  This is simply not the weather to test your endurance.  The weather reports say that the heat will abate by mid-week.  Let us all hope so.
